"5 in 8 children in the UK are not learning about major world events and problems in the world." -The Development Education Association, 2011.

In our increasingly globalised world, education can help people understand the wider world around them and make the connections between their own lives and the global challenges we face. This form of global learning will prepare people to live and work in a global society and develop the capabilities to create a more just and sustainable world.

STAR4Africa's School2School Programme promotes international school partnerships based on equality, fun, friendship and global learning. School2School fosters creative thinking; self awareness; open-mindedness towards difference; and an understanding of global issues and power relations.

Our wish is for people to realise their potential in the world through the sharing of ideas and experiences.

What our schools say:

"It is an eye opener. Learning of the different cultures and just knowing that someone is interested also to learn from us." -Indeco Community School, Zambia

"We hope that we will learn so much from each other." -Baharani Pre-School, Kenya

"Teachers have a window into teaching techniques around the world. Most importantly, the children will be exposed to a global Deaf community, and understand the similarities and differences between the community they know and the wider community." -Sipili School for the Deaf, Kenya

"We want to look at the world beyond the UK and for the children to realise that there are deaf children in other countries. We want to gain first hand knowledge, in a practical way, about another culture. We have deaf children from Africa and it would help them to understand more about their heritage too." -Brimsdown Resource Base for Deaf Children, UK

"We would like to learn about other cultures and socialse with others. We also want to teach our sister school about the history of our country" -Teacher Adam Memorial School, Ghana
